Business Process Choreography with WebSphere

چکیده

Business Processes play a key role in Business-to-Business (B2B) and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) scenarios by exposing the appropriate invocation and interaction patterns. They also introduce a two-level programming model for building heterogeneous and distributed applications (workflow-based applications). Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL4WS) provides the language to specify business processes that are composed of Web services as well as exposed as Web services. In this talk we show how IBM's J2EE Application Server WebSphere provides such an environment to run business processes, called Process Choreographer. We also show how Process Choreographer allows to leverage the additional capabilities of J2EE and WebSphere, such as support for people participating in business processes, support for transactions, and support for direct access to Java.

Business process choreography in WebSphere: Combining the power of BPEL and J2EE

Business processes not only play a key role in business-to-business and enterprise application integration scenarios by exposing the appropriate invocation and interaction patterns; they are also the fundamental basis for building heterogeneous and distributed applications (workflow-based applications). Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL4WS) provides the means to specify...

A process ontology to represent semantics of different process and choreography meta-models

Cross-organisational interoperability is a key issue for success in B2B ecommerce applications. To achieve this interoperability, choreography descriptions are necessary that describe how the business partners can cooperate. In existing approaches, these choreography descriptions are disconnected from the internal workflows of the partners. We present an ontology that unifies both internal and ...

Extending choreography with business contract constraints

Business contracts play a central role in governing commercial interactions between organizations. It is increasingly recognized that business contract conditions need to be closely linked to internal and external business processes, both to reduce the risk of contract violations and to ensure compliance with legislative regimes. Recent research has proposed contract languages allowing the spec...

Choreography and Orchestration: A Synergic Approach for System Design

Choreography and orchestration languages deal with business processes design and specification. Referring to Web Services technology, the most credited proposals are WS-CDL about choreography and WS-BPEL about orchestration. A closer look to such a kind of languages highlights two distinct approaches for system representation and management. Choreography describes the system in a top view manne...

Choreography-Based Design of Business Collaborations

We define choreography-based design as a design approach in which a business process for a business collaboration (or choreography) is established by the stakeholders in the collaboration. Subsequently, the stakeholders adapt their internal business processes to the established choreography, to allow successful collaboration. To assist in such a design approach, this paper presents techniques t...
